Worked as a researcher at Fujitsu Laboratories LTD. from 1991 to 1994; research associate at Professor Shigeo Hirose's laboratory, Tokyo Institute of Technology, from 1995 to 2000; postdoc at Professor Katsushi Ikeuchi's laboratory, Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, from 2000 to 2002; associate professor at Professor Tsutomu Hasegawa's laboratory, Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, from 2002 to 2007; currently a professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University.
Education
Received B.E. in 1989, M.E. in 1991, and Ph.D. in 1998 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science, Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Research interests include: legged robot control, computer vision, multiple mobile robots, space robots, medical imaging, and biometrics.
