Involved in multiple research projects concerning underwater robots and SLAM, including significant initiatives like SMaRC2.0.
Research Experience
Current research focus is on underwater robots. Serves as a professor at the Swedish Maritime Robotics Centre SMaRC and will be supervising a PhD student project on AUV perception starting from 2024, along with an industrial PhD project on AUV SLAM with Ocean Infinity.
Background
Research interests lie in the field of mobile robotics, particularly underwater robots. The main challenge is simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), especially place recognition in natural underwater environments. Also interested in situation awareness for autonomous driving.
Miscellany
Welcomes KTH students to join his AUV research group for master's projects or thesis work.
