Research Experience
Currently a research scientist at Google DeepMind. Previously a research scientist at Google Research. Postdoctoral associate in Josh Tenenbaum's Computational Cognitive Science Lab in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. Interned at DeepMind during his PhD, working with Yee Whye Teh.
Education
Completed a PhD in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Frank Wood. Advisor: Frank Wood.
Background
Research interests include probabilistic programming, generative modeling, and inference. Likes using deep neural networks to speed up sampling algorithms such as importance sampling and sequential Monte Carlo and to make probabilistic programs more flexible. Wants to build systems that can understand scenes, agent behavior, and learn new concepts.
