Academic Achievements
  • May 15, 2024: Presented our paper on distributed tactile sensing at ICRA 2024; Mar 14, 2024: Presented our paper on robot-assisted bed bathing at HRI 2024; SPARCS was accepted to IROS 2022.
Research Experience
  • Interned with the Human-Robot Interaction team at Toyota Research Institute; Worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at SAGA Robotics; Spent a year as a visiting scientist at the Personal Robotics Lab under Siddhartha S. Srinivasa; Contributed to motion planning and perception stack at the Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) Research Group.
Education
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University, advised by Prof. Tapomayukh Bhattacharjee; B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur, worked with Pabitra Mitra on efficient exploration in RL.
Background
  • Research Interests: Building physical caregiving robots to assist individuals with mobility limitations in performing activities of daily living. Specifically, exploring contact-rich manipulation using contacts across the entire robot embodiment, enabling robots to navigate cluttered environments and perform complex tasks that require safe and adaptive physical interaction with humans.
Miscellany
  • Personal Interests: Staying active by playing cricket, squash, and pool.
