Currently a Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University, affiliated with the Bioengineering and Bioinformatics Department. Was a Visiting Faculty at the Discovery Analytics Center of Virginia Tech University (2015-2016).

Ph.D. (2008) and M.S. (2005) in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, USA; B.S. in Computer Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai, India (2003).
Background
Research interests include Data Mining and Machine Learning, specifically in the areas of Multi-Task and Transfer Learning, Hierarchical Classification, and Recommender Systems, with applications in Biomedical Informatics, Educational Data Mining, and Social Network Analysis. His group focuses on developing novel algorithms and effective solutions for real-world applications.
