Recipient of numerous awards including the Outstanding Junior Faculty Award of Indiana University Bloomington (class of 2024), NSF CAREER award (2021, cloud-based IoT systems security), Facebook Research Award (2021, Privacy Enhancing Technologies), among others. Research has significantly changed security design in everyday used apps/systems across Android, iOS/iPad/MacOS, Chrome, Apple Home (HomeKit), Google Home, SmartThings, Facebook, AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.

Before entering academia, worked for several years at Amazon/AWS, building and engineering large production systems; currently directing the System Security Foundations lab at UIUC.
Background
An Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Research interests include security and privacy compliance in systems, particularly in IoT, cloud, mobile, and software supply chain. Previously, an Assistant then Associate Professor at Indiana University Bloomington. Spent several years building/engineering large production systems at Amazon/AWS before academia.
