Academic Achievements
  • Received the NSF CAREER Award in 2009; selected for DARPA's Computer Science Study Panel in 2010; Distinguished Scientist, ACM in 2016; Distinguished Paper Award, ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) in 2024; Fellow, IEEE.
Research Experience
  • Was a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University, a research faculty member with the Georgia Tech Communications Systems Center (CSC), and a consultant in Andersen Consulting's (now Accenture) Network Solutions Group. Leads the Georgia Tech Communications Assurance and Performance Group (CAP), developing algorithms for a more secure network infrastructure.
Education
  • Received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University in 1998; Master's and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1999 and 2003, respectively.

  • Research interests include network security, network monitoring and performance, privacy, and cyber-physical systems security. He is the Dean of the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech and the Southern Company Chair.
