Academic Achievements
  • Served as Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Graphics (1996-1999) and co-Editor-in-Chief of Computer Graphics Forum (2010-2014); currently serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals; has served as papers chair or co-chair for several international conferences; Fellow of the ACM and Eurographics Association.
Research Experience
  • From 1988 to the end of 1991, she was a faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering department at Georgia Tech; joined the computing and mathematics staff of the National Institute of Standards and Technology at the end of 1991, focusing on scientific data visualization; worked as a research staff member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from 1996 to early 2004, working on various data visualization problems and projects such as creating a digital model of Michelangelo’s Florence Pieta.

  • Received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1977, 1986, and 1988 respectively.
