Served as Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Graphics (1996-1999) and co-Editor-in-Chief of Computer Graphics Forum (2010-2014); currently serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals; has served as papers chair or co-chair for several international conferences; Fellow of the ACM and Eurographics Association.
Research Experience
From 1988 to the end of 1991, she was a faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering department at Georgia Tech; joined the computing and mathematics staff of the National Institute of Standards and Technology at the end of 1991, focusing on scientific data visualization; worked as a research staff member at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from 1996 to early 2004, working on various data visualization problems and projects such as creating a digital model of Michelangelo’s Florence Pieta.
Education
Received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1977, 1986, and 1988 respectively.
Background
Research interests include shape and appearance capture, applications of perception in computer graphics, modeling material appearance, and developing computational tools for cultural heritage.
