  • Currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), also affiliated (on leave) with School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University. Heading the Wireless And Networked Distributed Sensing (WANDS) system group. Member of the executive committee of ACM SIGMOBILE. Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Internet of Things since 2024. Distinguished Member of the ACM and a Fellow of the IEEE.

  • Received BS degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University; PhD degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Background
  • Research Interests: Smart City and Urban Data Analytics, Low Altitude Systems and Communications, Internet of Things (IoT) and AIoT. The long-term goal is to deepen and broaden the way we instrument the physical world, with which we can generate artificial intelligence, perform insightful data analytics, and provide human-centered services AI to facilitate people's smarter lifestyle.
