Research Experience
Spent time (2017-2019) at Oculus/Facebook, Menlo Park, CA, working in hand tracking, in conjunction with Facebook Reality Labs. Since 2020, has been at CVRL, ICS, FORTH, carrying out research on the same topics.
Education
Completed B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. studies as well as post-doc (2001-2016) at the Computer Science Department (CSD) of the University of Crete (UOC), and at the Computer Vision and Robotics Lab (CVRL) of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), under the supervision of Prof. Antonis Argyros.
Background
A researcher in the field of Computer Vision, with a focus on computational methods that explain hand(s)-object(s) interactions. These explanations amount to optimization and take the forms of modeling, detection, and tracking. Employed black box and gradient-based optimization over models of appearance, dynamics, and further (DCNNs). Primary fields of interest are Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Dynamics, and Software Engineering.
