Serves as an associate editor for Electronic Journal of Statistics (EJS), ASA Journal Data Science in Science (DSiS), and Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA). Also serves as an area chair for several ML conferences such as ICLR, COLT, AISTATS, and UAI. Recognized as a distinguished alumnus of UNC-Chapel Hill.
Research Experience
Before joining UofT, was an associate research scholar at Princeton University. Currently leads the NeXAIS (AGI × Statistics) group and actively collaborates with industry partners.

PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; BS in SCGY from the University of Science and Technology of China.
Background
Professor of Statistical Sciences, Computer Science, and Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Toronto and a visiting professor at MBZUAI. Research interests include efficient GenAI, trustworthy AI, and foundations of AGI such as next generation statistics. Long-term goal is to develop AI that is efficient, trustworthy, personalized, and accessible to all.
