Since 2002, Associate Professor (now Professor) in the Department of Engineering Science and a Fellow of St John’s College. Member of the Oxford Control Group.
Education
Completed MEng in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford in 1993; obtained SM from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995; finished DPhil at the University of Oxford in 1998.
Background
Research interests: designing feedback controllers for uncertain systems to optimize performance subject to constraints. Applications include power management in electric vehicles and hybrid electric aircraft, trajectory optimization, control of biomedical devices for deep brain stimulation, bioprocess control, and self-driving laboratories.
