Listed as one of MIT TR35 (Innovator Under 35) in China by MIT TechReview in 2020. His work on Safe Optimization is regularly taught in CS and Aero/Astro courses at multiple universities. His Preference Optimization work has been applied to clinical treatments and led to a best paper award at ICRA’20. Published numerous papers in international conferences such as CoRL, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.
Research Experience
Currently an associate professor at Tsinghua University, working at the National Engineering Research Center of Neuromodulation. Previously, he was an instructor at Stanford, teaching AI-Assisted Health Care; a teaching assistant at Tsinghua for Contemporary Methods in System Neuroscience Research; and mentored research projects in Computation and Mathematical Sciences at Caltech and Computer Science at Stanford.

Received undergraduate degree from Tsinghua University; Ph.D. from Caltech, supervised by Profs. Mu-ming Poo, Joel Burdick, and Yisong Yue; Postdoc at Stanford University, working with Prof. Fei-Fei Li.
