Research Experience
Currently a Research Associate Professor at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computing and a member of the Roux Institute. Formerly a research scientist at Tableau Software and a postdoc at the UW Interactive Data Lab at the University of Washington, supervised by Jeff Heer.
Education
Received Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Computer Sciences in August 2015, under the supervision of Michael Gleicher.
Background
Research interests include data ethics, communicating statistics to mass audiences, and investigating biased or misleading data visualizations. Specializes in information visualization, with a focus on the ethical, accurate, and responsible communication of data. Also interested in graphical perception, text analytics, statistical graphics, and uncertainty visualization.
