Research Experience
Served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona (2000-2006), Associate Professor (2006-2012), and Full Professor (2012-2024). During this time, he also served as the Associate Director of the Data Science Institute. Co-chaired the program committees for ALENEX, IEEE PacificVis, and GD, and is an Associate Editor of JGAA, CGTA, and IEEE TVCG.
Education
Received BS degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Dartmouth College in 1995 and a PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2000.
Background
Research interests include the design, analysis, and implementation of efficient algorithms, as well as applications in information visualization, computational geometry, and graph drawing. He has published over 250 papers in these areas.
