Led the Magic Vision Lab in Australia (2010–2014).
Member of Takeo Igarashi’s global ASPIRE project since January 2025; regularly visits the University of Tokyo with students.
Background
Has focused on Augmented Reality (AR) research since 2000, believing it will profoundly impact humanity's future.
Since the release of Stable Diffusion in August 2022, he is convinced that open-source generative AI will be the key enabling technology for AR.
Born and raised in Munich, Germany; has lived abroad since graduating in 2005.
Currently a Professor at Université Paris-Saclay and head of the ARAI team at CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique).
Research interests include Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and Human Perception.
