Research Experience
  • Currently a Research Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Tufts University. Previously, a Senior Researcher of AI at Smart Information Flow Technologies (SIFT), working closely with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community on several AI-related projects. Prior to that, practiced as an IP lawyer at the law firm of Ropes and Gray for nearly a decade.

  • Research interests: At the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). Uses techniques in neuro-symbolic machine learning (incl. LLMs, logic programming, and hyperdimensional computing), social/cognitive sciences, and linguistics to understand and build socially-competent and safe AI.
Miscellany
  • Outside of work, spends time with his wife, three kids, and other family and friends. In spare time, writes and draws single-panel cartoons, practices shaolin-kempo-karate style martial arts, plays chess, and designs puzzle video games (e.g., Bridges and Go for Green).
