FC-GUARD: Enabling Anonymous yet Compliant Fiat-to-Cryptocurrency Exchanges

This work addresses the privacy risks inherent in existing fiat-cryptocurrency exchange platforms, which often leak linkages between user identities and on-chain addresses, thereby compromising anonymity. To reconcile privacy protection with regulatory compliance, the paper proposes a novel exchange system that operates under a “default anonymity, auditable on demand” paradigm. By decoupling user identities from blockchain addresses while supporting lawful de-anonymization for KYC and tax auditing purposes, the system leverages verifiable credentials and zero-knowledge proofs to conceal users’ identities and fiat account details. Authorized entities can nevertheless audit suspicious or non-compliant activities when necessary. A functional prototype has been implemented on both desktop and mobile platforms, and experimental evaluation demonstrates the system’s practical feasibility in simultaneously achieving strong privacy guarantees and regulatory compliance.

A Large-Scale Study on the Development and Issues of Multi-Agent AI Systems

This study addresses the lack of systematic understanding regarding the evolutionary dynamics of multi-agent AI systems in real-world development and maintenance. Conducting the first large-scale empirical analysis of eight prominent open-source multi-agent systems, the work examines 42,000 code commits and over 4,700 resolved issues through repository mining, commit categorization, issue tracking, and statistical modeling. It characterizes three distinct development profiles—sustained, stable, and bursty—and quantifies the distribution of maintenance activities while identifying three core issue categories: coordination, infrastructure, and defects. The findings reveal that 40.8% of commits correspond to feature enhancements, 22% of issues are defects, and 10% pertain to coordination challenges, with median resolution times ranging from under one day to two weeks, indicating an active yet fragile maintenance ecosystem.

A General Framework for Error-controlled Unstructured Scientific Data Compression

To address insufficient neighbor information exploitation and uncontrollable error in lossy compression of unstructured mesh scientific data, this paper proposes an error-bounded multi-component compression framework. First, irregular mesh data are interpolated onto a regular grid; then, the interpolated field and residual are compressed separately. This is the first method to achieve generic, strictly error-bounded compression for arbitrary-topology unstructured meshes. By decoupling interpolation from residual encoding, the framework seamlessly integrates with mainstream floating-point compressors such as ZFP and FPZIP. Evaluated on four representative scientific datasets, it achieves 2.3–3.5× higher average compression ratios than state-of-the-art methods while rigorously satisfying absolute error bounds ranging from 1e−6 to 1e−2—demonstrating superior accuracy-compression trade-offs.
