Academic Achievements
  • Published a book titled 'Hardware Architectures for Deep Learning', showcasing innovative ideas in the design, modeling, implementation, and optimization of hardware platforms for neural networks. The book can be explored on IET and Amazon.
Research Experience
  • Current research projects include: AI acceleration on FPGA for LLMs, video processing, and healthcare; emerging memory systems and processing-in-memory; edge AI for IoT systems. In recent years, research has been expanded through international collaborations, particularly with the Heterogeneous Systems Research Group at Malardalen University, Sweden, resulting in over 30 joint papers.

  • Received his PhD in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2011. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of undertaking several wonderful research visits, including EPFL in Switzerland (2009-2010), Malardalen University (MDU) in Sweden (2018), and TU Dresden in Germany (2019).
Background
  • An Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Tehran, in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. As of March 2025, he serves as the head of the Department of Computer Architecture. He leads the Intelligent Architectures for Computing Systems research group. His current research is focused on hardware acceleration for AI, parallel architectures, and networks-on-chip, and modern memory systems.
Miscellany
  • Teaches one undergraduate and one graduate course each semester. Additionally, teaches the Seminar in Computer Architecture course for graduate students and Research Methods and Presentation Skills for undergraduate students every semester.
