Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI USA. Research work involves autonomous navigation, shared control, and connected testbeds.
Education
Received the B.S.E. degree from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI USA, in 2003 and 2007, respectively, all in mechanical engineering.
Background
Research interests include system dynamics and control, mathematical modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, as well as their estimation and control. Application areas span vehicle systems (e.g., autonomous vehicles, semi-autonomous vehicles, vehicle dynamics, powertrain management), energy systems (e.g., batteries, vehicle powertrains, microgrids, fuel cells), and humans (e.g., driver distraction, human balance, cognitive modeling).
