Academic Achievements

Published numerous papers in top conferences and journals such as CVPR, ICML, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, etc. Published a book titled 'Normalization Techniques in Deep Learning' in 2022. Organized several workshops and tutorials at international conferences, including a tutorial on 'Normalization Techniques in Deep Learning' at CVPR 2021.

Research Experience

Worked as a research scientist at Inception Institute of Artificial Intelligence (IIAI), UAE, from 2018 to 2020.

Education

Received BSc and PhD degrees from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Beihang University, China, both under the supervision of Prof. Wei Li, in 2010 and 2018 respectively. Visited the Vision and Learning Lab, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, as a joint PhD student supervised by Prof. Jia Deng from 2015 to 2016.

Background

Research Interests: Normalization techniques (methods, theories, and applications) in training DNNs, deep learning theory (representation & optimization), and computer vision tasks. Profile: Currently an Associate Professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence, Beihang University, and a member of the State Key Laboratory of Complex and Critical Software Environment (SKLCCSE).
