Research Experience
  • 1. SurgicalAI - DEEP STITCH: Focusing on automating the assessment of suturing skills during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and virtual reality (VR) simulation through machine learning.
  • 2. DEEP DISSECT: Aiming to assess nerve-sparing (NS) surgical performance, which is a principal modifiable determinant of erectile function (EF) outcome after RARP.
  • 3. DEEP FEEDBACK: Observing and assessing the process of live surgical feedback, conducting randomized controlled trials to optimize feedback for improving surgeon skills, and developing an AI system for delivering automated feedback when experienced human trainers are not available.
  • 4. SURGICAL GESTURES: Defining surgical gestures as the smallest meaningful interaction of a surgical instrument with human tissue, and linking these gestures to surgeon technical skills and patient outcomes.
