Reviewer/committee member for venues such as ACL, NAACL, IJCAI, EMNLP since 2012, and area chair for ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, and EACL since 2022. Organizer of the Workshop on Asian Translation (WAT) since 2018 and the M3Oriental workshop since 2023.

Senior Research Scientist at Google Research Australia, also an Adjunct Faculty at IIT Madras, and a Honorary Visiting Assistant Professor at IIT Bombay. Previously, a Researcher at NICT, Japan, under the direction of Masao Utiyama.

Background
Research interests include post-training of large language models, reinforcement learning, multilingualism, machine and speech translation, efficiency, low-resource languages (especially Indic and Creole). Currently working at Google Research Australia, focusing on the Gemini project.
