Academic Achievements
- - 2018-2020: Selected to participate in Aurora Outstanding, a research initiative that aims to recruit and bring together the most promising young researchers in every discipline at UiT.
- - Since 2009, a founding member of the Biolinguistics Team and has been an Associate Editor for Psycholinguistics since 2019.
- - Latest publication: Tests the impact of language distance on bilingual cognition, analyzing data from 56,122 participants who speak 79 different languages.
Research Experience
- - 2020-2022: Ramón y Cajal Senior Research Fellow at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
- - 2017-2019: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme.
- - 2016-2017: Taught linguistics at the Cyprus University of Technology and held a postdoctoral research & teaching position at the University of Cyprus, partly funded by the A. G. Leventis Foundation.
Education
- Received her PhD with highest honors from Universitat de Barcelona in 2015 on an FPI grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Background
- A psycholinguist, currently an ICREA Research Professor, affiliated with the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Main research interests include bilingual/bidialectal cognition, language processing in vivo and in silico (humans and Large Language Models), and language variation.
