Resume (English only)
Academic Achievements
  • Published several academic papers on topics such as pose estimation and object recognition, including 'Continuous Pose Estimation with a Spatial Ensemble of Fisher Regressors' at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV).
Research Experience
  • Was a visiting researcher in Prof. Tuytelaars' group at K.U. Leuven, Belgium from February to April 2015.
Education
  • Obtained both bachelor's and master's degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Florence, Italy. In 2009, wrote his master's thesis during a six-month internship at the Center for Advanced Security Research Darmstadt (CASED), Germany. Since September 2010, has been working towards a PhD degree at the Institut für Informationsverarbeitung.
Background
  • Main research interests include feature-based pose estimation problems, object detection, object classification, and video surveillance applications. He has researched methods for finding a continuous solution relying only on 2D information without using 3D training data or models. Investigated the use of artificial neural networks to model the relationship between viewpoint and feature descriptor. Also studied applying graph matching techniques to enforce geometrical consistency and using Linear Programming to integrate temporal information. Additionally, he is interested in multiple people tracking problems and video surveillance.
