Academic Achievements
  • Selected among 12 personalities - changemakers moving their field and Slovakia forward by Forbes in March 2024; awarded the Ľudovít Štúr Order of the Second Class for significant contributions to science, technology, and education by the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová in January 2024; received the Personality of International Cooperation award at the Slovak Scientist of the Year Awards for a unique contribution to development.
Research Experience
  • Conducts research in artificial intelligence with a focus on human-computer interaction analysis, user modeling, and personalization. Recently involved in topics related to low resource AI. Actively participates in discussions on trustworthy AI at national and European levels.
Education
  • Worked at the Slovak University of Technology for over 30 years, including 15 years as a full professor, head of the PeWe research group (Personalized Web), and director of the User eXperience and Interaction research center. Former dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies (FIIT STU).
Background
  • Research areas include personalized web-based systems, human-computer interaction analysis, machine learning, user modeling, and trustworthy AI. Currently serves as a Lead and Researcher at KInIT.
