Academic Achievements
Involved in multiple research projects and received various grants, such as the University of Liverpool Knowledge Exchange and Impact Voucher (2018-2019), Royal Society Kan Tong Po Visiting Fellowships (2016-2017), and Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province Grant (China) (2015-2018). Published numerous papers, with records available on DBLP, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Scopus, and ORCID.
Research Experience
Currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Liverpool, associated with the Algorithm Group. Prior to joining UoL, was a post-doctoral fellow at HKU.
Education
Obtained a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong in 2003, under the supervision of Prof TW Lam and Dr HF Ting.
Background
Research interests include the design and analysis of algorithms for optimization problems, with a focus on online and approximation algorithms. Application areas include job scheduling, bin packing, multimedia streaming, load balancing, and network routing. Additional work has been done in computational biology and wireless communication algorithms.
