Research Experience
In academia, was an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Canberra (UC), a Visiting Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), an assistant professor at King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), and served at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES) and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). In industry, was a Research Scientist at Data61, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), a fellow at SDAIA's Joint Research Center of AI (JRCAI), involved in various projects with National ICT Australia (NICTA), and worked on a medical-related project with Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems Europe (TMVSE) in Scotland, simulating sonar sensors for transparent object detection at Pal Robotics in Barcelona.

PhD from the Australian National University, College of Engineering & Computer Science, with doctoral research within the Computer Vision Research Group (CVRG) at Data61 (previously NICTA), CSIRO; Master's degree in Computer Vision and Robotics (Vibot) through a collaborative program involving Heriot-Watt University, the University of Girona, and the University of Bourgogne; Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), KPK.
Background
Currently a Senior Lecturer (US Associate Professor) at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and leading the Visual Intelligence and Analytical Imaging Lab. Also a visiting scientist at CSIRO and an honorary faculty member at the Australian National University (ANU).
