Academic Achievements
Participates in an ARPA-H grant led by Mark Skylar-Scott to bioprint a human heart. Developed the SimVascular open-source project.
Research Experience
Leads the Cardiovascular Biomechanics Computation Lab at Stanford, including graduate students, postdocs, and staff scientists. Collaborates closely with cardiologists, radiologists, surgeons, computational scientists, and bioengineers at Stanford and around the world to translate computational cardiovascular modeling tools to the clinical setting.
Background
Leader of the Cardiovascular Biomechanics Computation Lab, focusing on the development of fundamental computational methods for studying cardiovascular disease progression, surgical methods, treatment planning, and medical devices. Special emphasis on patient-specific modeling in pediatric and congenital heart disease as well as adult cardiovascular disease.
