Before joining UVA, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich, working with Prof. Angela Dai, and at École Polytechnique / Inria, collaborating with Prof. Maks Ovsjanikov.

He received his BEng in Software Engineering (2014) from Shandong University and his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering (2020) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Prof. Chiew-Lan Tai.
