Published at least 30 journal articles; recipient of the 2021 Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award from USF Research & Innovation; guest editor for the special issue on 'Multi-objective Evolutionary Optimization in Machine Learning' at IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation.
Research Experience
Served as a main co-chair or organizer for several academic conferences, such as the 2022 ICS conference; involved in the development of open-source R-package SiteOpt for site selection and portfolio optimization, and WasteWATER, a decision support web-tool for water reclamation system planning.

Ph.D. in Operations Research from the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, The University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, officially awarded on January 19, 2016. Thesis topic: 'Theory and Algorithms for Multi-objective Integer Programming'. Advisors: Prof. Martin Savelsbergh, Prof. Natashia Boland, and Dr. Masoud Talebian.
