Academic Achievements
Published several conference/journal papers applying deep learning and using visualizations to explain deep learning models. Won the Strong Support for exploratory analysis Award for VAST 2018, Mini Challenge 2, with the paper titled 'MTDES: Multi-dimensional Temporal Data Exploration System.' Also received the best paper award for 'SOAViz: Visualization for Portable X-ray Fluorescence Soil Profiles' at ENVIRVIS 2019, Workshop on Visualization in Environmental Sciences.
Research Experience
Guided a team to achieve Silver (rank 2) as a data contributor and Bronze (rank 3) as a model contributor in the Crowdsensing-based Road Damage Detection Challenge (CRDDC2022) at IEEE BigData 2022. Achieved 3rd place in the CosmicBC 1st Biannual Prediction Herobots Challenge, which involved creating a module to predict Bitcoin and Ethereum values two hours ahead. Received an Honorable Mention (rank 7th) in KDD Cup 2020, Graph Adversarial Attacks and Defense, focusing on attacking citation graphs and defending against such attacks. Was a shortlisted winner (rank 11th) in Big Data Cup 2020, Global Road Damage Detection, which aimed at detecting and classifying road damages from images.
