Has authored or co-authored over 150 refereed journal and conference papers. His contributions have earned him several prestigious awards, including the 2010 International Conference on Communications (ICC) Best Paper Award, the 2017 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting Best Paper Award, and the 2022 American Control Conference Best Paper Award Runner-Up. He is also a 2019 National Academies Gulf Research Program Early-Career Research Fellow and a 2022 National Science Foundation CAREER Award recipient.

Research focuses on the mathematical and physical foundations of artificial intelligence and its interdisciplinary applications, specializing in graph/geometric deep learning, physics-informed machine learning, and interpretable learning. His work applies these techniques to scientific and engineering challenges, including renewable energy, smart grids, predictive condition monitoring, control co-design, and robotics.
