Regularly publishes at prestigious academic conferences such as ACM CHI and ACM ISS, as well as in highly respected journals like ACM Computing Surveys. Supervised several master's and doctoral theses.
Research Experience
Postdoctoral researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction group, University of Konstanz, working on the SFB TRR161 project 'Quantitative Methods for Visual Computing', responsible for subproject C01 on quantitative measurement of interaction.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems (B.Sc.), Furtwangen University; Master's degree in Information Engineering with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction (M.Sc.), University of Konstanz and Linköping University; Doctoral dissertation titled 'Evaluating Complementary Interfaces as a Design-Informing Activity', received highest honors (summa cum laude).
Background
Research interests include meaningful combinations of devices and modalities (i.e., Complementary Interfaces) for individual and collaborative scenarios, as well as the measurement of cognitive load in interactive systems. Focuses on how humans use multiple devices interactively and in combination, what cognitive demands arise, and how different interaction modalities can be designed to improve the user experience.
Miscellany
A photographer who loves to spend time somewhere between mountains, waters, and the woods.
