Research Experience
Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at City University of Hong Kong (CityU); led the HZL team which won the Excellent Award (ranked 6/566) in the Glaucoma grAding from Multi-Modality imAge (GAMMA) Challenge at the MICCAI OMIA workshop'21.
Education
He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University under the supervision of Prof. Kalyanmoy Deb (FIEEE, FACM).
Background
His research interests include bilevel optimization, evolutionary multi-objective optimization, and neural architecture search. His current research focuses on the intersections of evolutionary computation, learning, and optimization, particularly on developing efficient and automated ML/DL algorithms and systems with the goal of making AI accessible to everyone.
