Academic Achievements
Publications: 'CXLAimPod: CXL Memory is all you need in AI era' (August 2025), 'HetGPU: The pursuit of making binary compatibility towards GPUs' (June 2025), 'CXLMemUring: A Hardware Software Co-design Paradigm for Asynchronous and Flexible Parallel CXL Memory Pool Access' (September 2023).
Research Experience
Research Assistant at CRSS @ UCSC since August 2022, focusing on understanding the performance characteristics of CXL.mem systems, data-driven far memory allocation and prefetching policies, and emulating memory disaggregation for data center applications.
Education
Undergraduate from ShanghaiTech University; currently a Ph.D. student in Computer Science Systems at UC Santa Cruz, advised by Andi Quinn.
Background
Currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science Systems at Baskin Engineering, UCSC. My research focuses on accelerating data access and manipulation on modern heterogeneous architectures and general-purpose processors using CXL and UCIe technology. I advocate for a hardware-software co-design methodology, where the software adaptively leverages hardware acceleration through semantic hints and falls back to slower paths when necessary.
Miscellany
Advised the Slug-not-so-Slow HPC Team to 2nd place in Virtual ISC23; passionate about seeking new knowledge and commercial opportunities, living between the San Francisco Bay Area and Shanghai.
