Research Experience
Conducted research at the Bremen Spatial Cognition Center from 2012 to 2019. Started as a postdoc researcher at the University of Bremen in 2012 with funding from the Exzellent Initiative. Awarded a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship in 2013 for the Cognitive-AmI project. Directed the CogQDA project funded by the Exzellent Initiative at the University of Bremen from 2015 to 2019. Served as a Ramon-y-Cajal professor/researcher at Universitat Jaume I (UJI), Spain, coordinating the XAI4SOC project from 2021 to 2023.
Education
Earned a double PhD title from the University of Bremen, Germany, and the University Jaume I, Spain. Received an Extraordinary PhD Award in Experimental Sciences and Technology at UJI. Conducted industry technology transfer at C-Robots during the final stage of her PhD.
Background
Research interests include spatial reasoning, knowledge representation, human-machine interaction, machine learning, cognitive systems, and creative problem solving. Authored over 40 AI-related journal articles, collaborating with more than 50 different co-authors, and has an Erdös number of 4. Also contributed 2 books, 5 proceedings books, 19 book chapters, and 50+ conference papers.
