Published numerous papers on network traffic measurement and analysis, such as 'Catching Wind in a Net: The Effects of the CrowdStrike Outage on Internet Traffic' which was presented at the 9th Network Traffic Measurement and Analysis Conference (TMA 2025).
Research Experience
Conducted postdoctoral work at AT&T Labs Research between 1995 and 1999; held research positions at Saarland University and Technical University Munich; since 2006, she has been a professor of Internet Network Architectures at Telekom Innovation Laboratories at Technische Universitaet Berlin; since early 2018, she serves as director at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbruecken.
Education
Received her degree in Computer Science from Universitaet Paderborn, Germany in 1990; earned her M.Sc. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991; and completed her Ph.D. there four years later.
