His work focuses on developing novel algorithms for understanding objects, human activities, scenes, and their attributes. He has served as an Associate Editor for PAMI and TMLR, Program Co-Chair for WACV'23, Workshop Co-Chair for ICCV'25, Tutorial Co-Chair for CVPR'22 and '25, and Senior Area Chair or Area Chair for multiple top conferences including CVPR, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, AISTATS, WACV, and AAAI. He is also an NSF Panelist.
Education
He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California (2011-2015), was a visiting graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin during the summer of 2012, earned an M.Phil. in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2008-2010), and received a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Information Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (2004-2008).

Boqing Gong is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Boston University and a part-time research scientist at Google.
