Received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2009; received the State of Hawaii Governor Innovation Award in 2009; her paper received the EURASIP Best Paper Award in 2014; currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Theory; is an IEEE fellow.
Research Experience
Before joining OSU, served on the faculty of the University of Hawaii and Syracuse University. Current research focuses on the foundations of machine learning, reinforcement learning, and large-scale optimization.
Education
Received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. Served on the faculty of the University of Hawaii and Syracuse University before joining OSU.
Background
Research interests include machine learning, optimization, statistical signal processing, information theory, and wireless communications. Currently a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU), and serves as the Deputy Director of the AI-EDGE Institute at OSU and a core faculty of the Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI).
Miscellany
Her lab will have multiple PhD positions (supported by research assistantship) starting in Fall 2024 and postdoc positions available immediately. All positions are in the areas of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Large-scale Optimization.
