IEEE SSP Best Student Paper Award (finalist) awarded to David Valdivia for work on audio signal interpolation with optimal transportation of spectrograms, 2025.
Research Experience
CNRS Research Director, member of the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT), laureate of an ANITI Advanced Chair (2024-2028) funded by the French ANR Cluster IA program. Also a member of the SC group, ANITI, AOC, IPAL, and ELLIS.
Background
Research interests include statistical signal processing and machine learning, with particular interests in matrix factorisation, inverse problems, source separation, and recommender systems. Involves statistical estimation, Bayesian inference, optimisation, Markov-chain Monte Carlo, variational approximations, latent variable models, independent component analysis, sparse representations, nonnegative matrix factorisation, low-rank approximations, time-frequency representations.
