Academic Achievements
  • He has led or participated in over 30 national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, published two English academic monographs, authored over 230 international journal and conference papers, applied for or obtained more than 60 patents, and received over 20 software copyrights. His papers have been cited over 9,000 times, and he has been listed as one of the 'Most Cited Chinese Researchers' by Elsevier for 11 consecutive years from 2014 to 2024. He has also been included in the 'Top 2% Scientists' list by Stanford University for both 'Lifetime Scientific Impact' and 'Annual Scientific Impact' from 2021 to 2023.
Research Experience
  • From 2007 to 2011, he was a Distinguished Researcher and Ph.D. Supervisor at Zhejiang University; from 2011 to 2017, he served as a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Electrical Automation, and Director of the Robotics and Automation Research Center at the South China Industrial Research Institute; from 2017 to 2021, he was the Dean of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute at Hangzhou Dianzi University and Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's Innovation and Intelligence Base for 'Perception and Control of Cyber-Physical Systems'; joined Southern University of Science and Technology in 2021. He has been a visiting professor at Yale University, the University of Tokyo, the Australian National University, and an outstanding visiting professor at the University of Technology Sydney.

  • Dean and Distinguished Professor at the School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Southern University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on multi-agent systems, distributed artificial intelligence, autonomous unmanned systems and intelligent robotics, and intelligent perception and control of cyber-physical systems.
