Academic Achievements
- ECE Outstanding Teacher of Year 2014 at Southern Illinois University Carbondale; Best Paper Award at the 2014 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing; 2021 Outstanding Service Award from IEEE Communications Society Signal Processing and Computing for Communications Technical Committee. A Senior Member of IEEE and a founding editor of IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC) Series on Machine Learning in Communications and Networks (incubated into the new IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking). Served as an editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications from 2013 to 2018.
Research Experience
- Has been with the Division of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Louisiana State University since August 2015. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University Carbondale from 2013 to 2015 and a Senior Systems Engineer with Marvell Semiconductor, Santa Clara, California, from 2011 to 2013.

- Received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011; Master's degree in Information and Communication Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2007; Bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, in 2005.
Background
- Primary research interests lie in wireless communications and signal processing, with a recent focus on federated learning, edge intelligence, and resilient spectrum sharing in next-generation wireless systems.
