Awarded the EuroVis Young Researcher Award (2021) and the Eurographics Young Researcher Award (2022) for contributions in visualization research. Won an Honorable Mention Best Paper Award at VMV 2025 for Val-LLM, a project developed with IVDA team members.
Research Experience
Started as a Post-doc researcher at TU Darmstadt's Interactive Graphics Systems Group in 2016, leading the Visual-Interactive Machine Learning Group. In 2019, became a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia, joining the InfoVis group led by Professor Tamara Munzner.
Education
Studied Computer Science with a focus on Computer Graphics at the University of Technology of Darmstadt. Completed his diploma thesis in 2009 on visual-interactive cluster analysis using neural networks. Received his PhD Degree in 2015 on 'Exploratory Search in Time-Oriented Primary Data' while at Fraunhofer IGD.
