Academic Achievements
  • Recipient of two ACM/SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards (at ASE'13 and ICSE'15) and one IEEE/TCSE Distinguished Paper Award (at ICSME'17), as well as Best Paper Awards at CSCW'18 and SANER'18. In 2019, he received an SNSF Ambizione grant, and in 2023, he was awarded the prestigious IEEE Computer Society Technical Council of Software Engineering Rising Star Award. Published over 80 journal papers.
Research Experience
  • Served as a program committee member for various international conferences such as the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering and the IEEE International Conference on Program Comprehension. Also served as a referee for several international journals including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and Springer's Empirical Software Engineering Journal. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Steering Committee of ICPC, and has held roles like program co-chair for SANER 2024 and ICPC 2021, and industrial track co-chair for SANER 2022.
Education
  • Received the European PhD degree in Management & Information Technology in 2017. His PhD Thesis was the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Computer Society Best PhD Thesis Award.
Background
  • Research interests include software maintenance and evolution, empirical software engineering, source code quality, and mining software repositories. Currently an Associate Professor at the Software Engineering (SeSa) Lab of the University of Salerno.
