Research Experience
From 2010-2016, served as the assistant director of LISA (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis, previously at Virginia Tech, now at the University of Colorado Boulder), working on a wide variety of research projects spanning medical, psychological, bioinformatic, biomechanical, and other areas. Converted to an assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at Virginia Tech in 2016 and was promoted to associate professor in 2022.
Education
Received a Ph.D. in Statistics from North Carolina State University in 2010 under the direction of Jason Osborne.
Background
Research interests include the assessment of probability forecasts arising from machine learning algorithms, natural language processing applications, and human punditry, as well as statistical modeling and data analytics for behavior science including behavioral economics, addiction, and the study of neurodivergence. Also interested in Bayesian model selection and averaging, objective Bayes, and spatial statistics.
