Research Experience
Currently a Juniorprofessor (Assistant Professor with Tenure Track) for Algorithmic Decision Making and Society at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), University of Potsdam. Previously, worked on AI for Social Good at Harvard University.
Education
PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from TU Berlin, supervised by Rolf Niedermeier and Markus Brill; Postdoc at Harvard University with Milind Tambe, working on AI for Social Good.
Background
Research interests bridge theoretical computer science, game theory, and AI to design algorithms that make fair and transparent decisions for groups of individuals with competing interests. This work encompasses preference aggregation, fairness in AI selection systems, and the allocation of scarce resources. A long-term goal is to achieve positive societal impact by developing and applying algorithmic methods grounded in rigorous theoretical research.
Miscellany
Values interdisciplinary work at the intersection of computer science and social sciences.
