Fair online group decision making: A project funded by FWF and netidee Science, aiming to leverage recent advances in fairness and proportionality in approval-based multi-winner voting and Participatory Budgeting to provide a novel tool-box for fair group decision making in online applications.

A holistic analysis of participatory budgeting: Funded by an Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship from FWF, worked on this project from September 2021 to April 2023 at the University of Amsterdam as part of the COMSOC Group, and from May 2023 to May 2024 at TU Wien as part of the Database and Artificial Intelligence Group (DBAI).

Background
- Assistant Professor at the Institute for Data, Process and Knowledge Management (DPKM) of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). Research interests include Computational Social Choice (COMSOC), Logic, and Knowledge Representation. Particularly focused on non-standard voting frameworks such as Participatory Budgeting and Perpetual Voting, preference representation, and computational complexity questions in COMSOC and logic.

- 1. Co-founder of the European Digital Democracy network, which aims to bring together academics and practitioners actively working on or with digital democracy.
- 2. Co-organized the first in-person conference of the Network in April 2024 in Rotterdam, bringing together more than sixty scientists and practitioners.
