Academic Achievements
  • Received Best Paper Awards from the 13th and 15th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communication (APCC) in 2007 and 2009, respectively; Outstanding Young Researcher Award from the Natural Science Foundation of China in 2009; currently serves as Director for Conference Publications of IEEE Communication Society, Conference and Technical Seminar Coordinator of IEEE Region 10, and Chief Scientist of the National Fundamental Research Program (973 Project) on 'Fundamental Research on the Energy and Resource Optimized Hyper-Cellular Mobile Communication System' (2012-2016).
Research Experience
  • Worked as a Researcher at Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Kawasaki, Japan, from April 1992 to March 1994; served as a Lecturer at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, from April 1994 to December 1994; Associate Professor at the same department from December 1994 to November 1999; and has been a Professor since November 1999.
Education
  • Graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University (formerly Northern Jiaotong University) in 1985 with a B.E. in Communication and Control; obtained M.E. and D.E. degrees in Information Engineering from Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan, in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
Background
  • Research interests include teletraffic theory, mobile Internet, radio resource management of wireless networks, and green communication and networks. Currently a professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering and deputy dean of the School of Information Science and Technology at Tsinghua University.
