Our research is funded by several agencies such as NSF-CMII, NSF-DMR, AFOSR, among others.
Research Experience
We use a variety of synthesis and processing techniques (e.g., vacuum arc melting, equal channel angular extrusion) and testing methods (mechanical testing, microstructural investigations).
Background
The main focus areas of our research group are processing-microstructure-mechanical property relationships in advanced metallic materials, especially ultrafine-grained materials, severe plastic deformation, and martensitic phase transformation.
Miscellany
We have extensive national and international collaborations with scientists from Argonne National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and many more.
